how i met my mummy

It is Mother’s Day this Sunday, a chance for all sons and daughters to tell their mummy’s how much they love them. I love my mummy very much, she was very good when she was pregnant with me, eating well, and looking after herself, and she practised relaxation, breathing exercises and listened to calming, soothing music. She meditated with special pregnancy CD’s to tune into me, and connect with me, to feel me growing inside her. We had a very special bond before I was even born. Mummy talked to me all the time, how happy she was to be pregnant with me, how much she loved me. I was very, very wriggly inside, I couldn’t wait to be born, to see my mummy, and my family.

When the time came for me to be born, I was so very excited! I wriggled more than ever, and the week before I was born I caused mummy to go in and out of hospital, as her labour started very slowly on the Monday (I was born on the Friday!) Mummy found out that the reason I took so long to arrive was that I had wriggled so much, my little head was wonky to one side, and not sitting straight against mummy’s cervix! As soon as the midwife examined mummy and gently helped to straighten me, I was born soon after! Mummy said I was a little monkey! Mummy was so calm and relaxed during the labour, she had the meditation music playing all the time, and she breathed so deeply and calmly, the midwives couldn’t believe how in control she was – and how my heart rate was perfect. I too was calm, relaxed, and just patiently waiting to be born. My birth was amazing, mummy gently, calmly brought me into the world, it was a beautiful experience for both of us. I’ll never forget the bright lights, the coolness, the sounds, and finally, hearing my mummy’s voice properly for the first time in my life. I had arrived! And I felt as happy, relieved and excited as my mummy.

This photo was taken on the day I was born, 12 October 2012, I was about 20 minutes old! Mummy cannot believe how good she looks! Mummy always looks beautiful to me. Mummy was having coffee and toast shortly after having me, something she would never have dreamed would happen! Mummy loved each of our births, but she says I was her easiest, best birth and she feels so lucky to have had the chance again, after ten years!

This is mummy and me on 28 February 2014, I am 16 months old. I love this photo, its our selfie!

This photo was taken this week on 26 March 2014, I am 17 months old. I had been asleep, and woke up too soon, I was very sleepy still, and, much to mummy’s delight very cuddly. My mummy is everything to me, she looks after me so well. I was born dairy intolerant, and with a very, very sensitive tummy. Mummy knew almost straight away, and got the Doctor to give me special ‘milk’ formula. She has always made every meal for me, and makes sure I eat the best food, no salt or sugar or processed food because my tummy can’t take it and I get terrible pains. She laughs sometimes, because it would be easier to give me a jar of baby food, but I don’t like it, I like proper food!

So this Mother’s Day I will be giving my mummy extra cuddles and kisses, I will be spending the day with her, making her smile and laugh, and I will be thanking my lucky stars that she is my mummy 🙂
